Help Me Get Home to See and Support My Children

My name is Satu, and I am a Finnish woman living in The Gambia. I did not come here for a holiday or simply to live abroad. I came here to help.
I am involved in running a small safe home in The Gambia, where we help vulnerable children and families who have very little. Much of my everyday life is dedicated to this work and to trying to make life a little safer and better for children who need support.
This work is very important to me, but it is not a well-paid job. We depend heavily on donations, and the money donated for the children and the safe home is needed for their food, housing and other essential needs. I do not want to take money intended for them to pay for my own personal expenses.
My own children are in Finland, and I miss them very much. My daughter is studying and has very little money, and my son is currently completing his military service and is also struggling financially. As their mother, I would love not only to see them again, but also to be able to help them with some of their necessary expenses.
At the moment, I cannot afford a return flight from The Gambia to Finland.
I am therefore asking for €2,000 in personal support. My hope is to use this money to pay for my return flights to Finland and to give some financial help to my children while I am there.
I spend much of my life trying to help people who have very little. Asking for help for myself is not easy, but this time I am hoping that someone who reads my story might be willing to help me too.
Every donation, large or small, would bring me closer to seeing my children. I would be deeply grateful for any help.
